Poetry Friday: A Harbinger of Hope

As seen on my drive to work earlier this week:

a ribbon of rainbow
peeks through gray clouds
a harbinger of hope

Laura Purdie Salas is hosting the Poetry Friday Roundup today at Writing the World for Kids. Be sure to stop by to read more poetry and to help Laura celebrate the publication of her new book, Snowman – Cold = Puddle. And although this may be a little obvious, my haiku could easily be transformed into an equation poem:

showers + sunbeams = rainbow

  1. Ah, two rainbow poems today, wonderful! We don’t see many here, not enough moisture, but it is very special when they do appear. Thanks for sharing yours, Catherine.

  2. I have a few people on my list who have lost loved ones. Whenever I see a rainbow, I try to take a picture and text it to them. A small thing that offers hope.
